FCC Reminds Cable Operators of EEO Form 396-C Filing Deadline
On July 30, 2012, the Media Bureau released a Public Notice reminding MVPDs, including cable operators, that Form 396-C, the FCC’s MVPD Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”) Program Annual Report, must be submitted electronically by midnight on October 1, 2012. To file Form 396-C, login to the Media Bureau’s CDBS Electronic Filing System.
The Public Notice also lists the cable operators the FCC has randomly selected to file a Supplemental Investigation Sheet. For this year’s filing, Supplemental Investigation Sheet filers must:
- Include one job description for employees in the category “Officials and Managers” in Part I.
- Answer questions 3, 5, and 7 of Part II:
- Name the organizations, media, educational institutions, and other recruitment sources used to attract applicants whenever job vacancies become available.
- Name the organizations, media, educational institutions, and other recruitment sources used to attract applicants whenever job vacancies become available.
- Describe the employment unit’s efforts to encourage entrepreneurs to conduct business in a nondiscriminatory manner with all parts of its operation and provide an analysis of the results of those efforts.
- Attach, as Part III, a copy of the unit’s EEO public file report created in 2012 covering the previous 12 months.
